Concrete Care

All my products are designed to withstand normal wear and tear in their new home.

Concrete products have been sealed with a bench top sealer that requires a little care from you to retain their condition. In order to maintain the finish of the sealer please follow these few simple steps.

• Clean with a luke warm damp cloth and if necessary use only a mild detergent.
• DO NOT use any cleaners that contain citrus, vinegar, bleach or alcohol.
• Clean any spills as they occur
• Use a chopping board for cutting or placing down anything hot
• Do not place items such as vases etc on bench for long periods of time while the bench is still wet
• Avoid direct sunlight, our sealer is UV protected but long exposures to direct sunlight may cause the product colours to fade slightly.
• Chipping can occur with enough force, special care should be taken especially around the edges.
• Avoid instant extreme temperature changes eg: cold surface then placing something very hot on top, no microwave, no oven, no fridge/freezer
• Your concrete product can be freshened up with a coat of natural bees wax, wax on wax off

As stated you are buying a handmade product, and all concrete has variations in colour, texture and final finish. Hairline fractures in our work are rare but can occur. However following these simple rules will minimise any chance of etching or staining from occurring.

The sealer used on your product is recommended to be resealed after 10 years for domestic use and 3 years for commercial.
